　　Perched high on a hill overlooking the meandering Wailua River, well-preserved Poliʻahu Heiau, a luakini (temple dedicated to war god Ku), is named after the snow goddess Poliʻahu, one of the sisters of the volcano goddess Pele. The heiau is immediately before ʻOpaekaʻa Falls Lookout, on the opposite side of the road.
