Located on Cormorant Island, Alert Bay is home to a rich tradition of indigenous culture. The art and artifacts of the First Nations - particularly the Kwakwaka'wakw - are on display here, including the world's tallest totem pole. The port also lies at the northern end of the Johnstone Strait, where large numbers of Orcas come to hunt during the summer months.
