Bar is a large industrial area on the coast of Montenegro. It acts as a transportation hub for surrounding attractions, including the ruins of Stari Bar (Old Bar) found in the mountains behind the city. While the town itself is modern and expanding every day, just outside of town holds more historical sites waiting to be explored. The Skadar lake is home to a large bird habitat, as well as an olive tree that is said to be more than 2,000 years old. Other points of interest include various large monasteries and churches, King Nikola's palace, Nehaj Fortress, and the many beaches that stretch along the coast.
