Known as the largest uninhabited island on the Earth, Devon Island is part of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and the Arctic Cordillera. A research station was established on the island in 1960, and is maintained today by the Arctic Institute of North America. Travelers will find that the landscape of Devon Island is said to be similar to that of Mars. As a result of this similarity, it has been used as a research destination for select NASA missions over the years.
