Eqip Sermia is one of the most active glaciers in Greenland. As a result, many travelers have had the opportunity to see calving, or the breaking of huge slabs of ice, firsthand. On the ground, the landscape of the glacier area changes from windswept tundra, to glacial valleys, then lush lowlands. Hikers will come across deep crevices created by the melting waters as they explore, and experience the breathtaking view of Eqip Sermia's icy splendor.
