Lysefjord is located in the Ryfylke area of southwest Norway. Its name means "light fjord,' which is said to be taken from the lightly colored granite rocks that make up the side of the fjord. The focal point and major tourist destination for the region is the huge Preikestolen cliff that overlooks the fjord. The area also offers popular hiking destinations and spectacular views from around the Kjerag Mountain.
