Pasajes is a Basque fishing community, with traditional houses sporting brightly colored wooden balconies. Pasajes is the birthplace of Blas de Lezo, a Spanish admiral who fought the British navy in the 1741 Battle of Cartagena de Indias. There are many local sites of historical and architectural interest to explore on foot.
