Pauillac is a small town on the Gironde estuary north of Bordeaux. The waterfront boulevard provides multiple cafes and restaurants, as well as shops and 19th century houses. The Church of Saint-Martin is a must see during a visit to Pauillac, and a trip to the visitors center will provide a tour guide leaflet of "Memoire de Pierres". Most notably, Pauillac is recognized for its wine. The Chateau Lafite Rothschild is a Historic Monument and has been producing wine in the area since the 17th Century. There are many other wine villas to be visited as well, including Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Laland, and Chateau Pontet-Carnet.
