Located on the Aven River, Pont-Aven is a charming destination filled with art galleries, shops, and quaint restaurants. It is well known as the home of Paul Gauguin's studio in the 1800s, as well as that of Emile Bernard and Paul Serusier. Artists and art lovers still flock to the area to admire the commercial art galleries that have been added alongside the town's public gallery. Travelers to this town can enjoy a visit to the Musee des Beaux Arts or a meal at the Moulin Poulguin Restaurant. Just a short distance away is the medieval walled town of Concarneau which is known as one of France's largest fishing ports and popular resorts. Spend time browsing the art galleries where you can purchase original works from new artists, or head to the ruins of Chateau de Rustephan. Be sure to bring your camera as you explore one of the most photographed towns in Brittany.
