Sassnitz is a popular seaside resort and port town on the Island of Rugen that serves as the gateway to Jasmund National Park. One of the most notable aspects of the park is the chalk cliffs that stand out white against the ocean. Visitors can take day trips to the cliffs via shuttle and by foot. Closer to the harbour, the HMS Otus, a decommissioned British submarine serves as a floating museum alongside the Fishing and Harbour Museum.
