Sifnos is an island municipality in the Cyclades island group in the Aegean archipelago. Its main towns are Apollonia and Artemonas, named for ancient temples to the two gods. Tourists should not miss the opportunity to explore the excavations of an ancient acropolis, located on top of a hill just south of Apollonia. Pay a visit to the Popular and Folk Art Museum. The island is famous as a capital of pottery, so watch for the distinctive brown and blue glazed pieces.
