Syvota is a popular resort area renowned for its lovely scenery and beaches. The port offers access to two historic cities, Cassopea and Nikopolis. Cassopea was built as a cliff-side town in the 4th century BCE, and later was ruined when the stone cliffs collapsed. Nikopolis, near the city of Preveza, was built by the Roman emperor Octavian to celebrate his victory over the fleet of Antony and Cleopatra.
