　　In addition to the regular exhibits, Sharjah Aquarium also offers educational programs for kids, including sleepovers in the aquarium (for children aged seven and up) as well as birthday parties.

　　Hot tip: around the corner is the Sharjah Maritime Museum. With a slew of boats, yachts, and historic fishing equipment on display, it makes for the perfect back-to-back itinerary.

　　54 Scratch any art itch at the Abu Dhabi Louvre

　　Art-lovers, take note. Who says you have to fly to the City of Lights to get your fix of French art and culture?

　　The Louvre Abu Dhabi – a sister institution to the famed Parisienne icon – is a stunning museum thats home to over 600 masterpieces of priceless works of art, including modern and historical paintings, intricate sculptures, detailed century-old manuscripts, rare archaeological finds, and a whole lot more.

　　Designed by Pritzker-prize architect French architect Jean Nouvel, the museum itself is a work of art, with its intricate latticework exterior that was inspired by the concept of a medina used in traditional Arabic architecture.

　　Inside, youll find over a dozen galleries spread across multiple floors – each one focusing on a different theme or period in history – as well as temporary exhibitions featuring rotating collections from other world-renowned museums.

　　Theres also an on-site cafe where you refuel, plenty of learning resources should you want to dive deeper into the stories behind the art (like podcasts and symposiums); and an on-site Childrens Museum, a hands-on section aimed at intriguing and delighting curious minds aged 4-10 (or thereabouts).

　　55 Take a day trip to beautiful seaside Fujairah

　　A waterside wonderland of limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and hidden coves and lagoons, Fujairah is one of the most beautiful places in the UAE – and makes for an excellent day trip from Dubai.

　　Fujairah is located on the east coast of the UAE (about a 75-minute drive from Dubai) and is known for its dramatic mountainscapes that jut out into the Gulf of Oman.
