Six Sense Zighy Bay/zzdtravel

Staying in a nice resort is one thing, but being able to eat on the beach while you do it, is next-level vacationing. We’ve traveled the world, from California to Oman, to create this list of our favorite resorts that offer stunning dining experiences right on the beach. From the adventurous (paragliding to private beaches) to the most luxurious (private dining on a cove in Thailand) we’re confident these travel experiences will inspire you to take a trip your family will always remember. And if that’s not enough? Well, you could always shell out $10,000/night to rent your own private island in Tanzania.

Ready for paradise? Let’s dive in.

1. Discovery Shores Boracay, Philippines

Boracay’s White Beach is world-famous, but the crowds can be overwhelming at Stations 2 and 3. Instead, opt for a stay at Discovery Shores Boracay located on the northern end of the beach at Station 1, where you can dine at the resort’s on-beach restaurant, Indigo, and take in the sunset with far fewer crowds.

2. Punta de Mita St. Regis, Mexico

If privacy is what you’re looking for, the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, a 120-room property located on a stretch of private beach in Punta Mita, Mexico, might be the perfect fit. Try your hand on their world-class golf courses during the day, and at night, dine on the fresh catch-of-the-day with your toes in the sand at the Mita Mary Boat Bar & Bistro.

3. Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui Thailand

It doesn’t get more luxurious than the Four Seasons Resort on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand and its Once in a Blue Moondinner. You and a guest will dine in a private cove on the beach for an exclusive chef’s dinner for two. Your multi-course meal is paired with four wines from different regions, which you’ll enjoy over classic Thai music. Cost is 12,500 baht per couple (roughly $380).

4. Pink Sands Resort, Bahamas

Enjoy your breakfast or lunch seaside at the Pink Sands on Harbour Island, Bahamas. The resort’s famed Blue Bar & Restaurant serves up locally caught and locally sourced cuisine with a side of views: While you dine, you’ll take in the pink sands and turquoise water vistas that have made the Bahamas an internationally recognized holiday destination.

5. The Ocean House, Rhode Island

You don’t have to travel overseas to experience beachfront luxury. At the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, guests take in sweeping views on a private stretch of beach in a sleepy little town that encourages relaxation. The property’s restaurant, Coast, offers prix-fixe four-course meals sourced locally, with optional caviar and cheese choices.

6. Bacara Resort and Spa, California

Join Hollywood’s elite in this ultra-private luxury resort with stunning views of the California coast, just 20 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. Though the beach itself is rocky, the Bacara Resort & Spa property provides sweeping views of the sea, which makes for a relaxing getaway not far for West Coasters. Their main restaurant, Angel Oak, features a wine collection of over 12,000 bottles and focuses mostly on steak and seafood. There’s also a tasting room in connection with the Foley Food + Wine Society that can arrange private tastings and cooking classes.

7. Six Senses Zighy Bay, Oman

Adventure-seeking luxury travelers will love a stay at the Six Senses at Zighy Bay, where guests paraglide to the resort’s private beach. Flights launch from the top of Zighy Mountain, beside the resort’s signature restaurant, Sense on the Edge, which itself offers incredible views of the Gulf of Oman. If you’d rather be on the sand, reserve a seat at Shua Shack, the resort’s beachfront restaurant, serving traditional Bedouin cuisine prepared in an underground oven.
