Las Vegas is a city that has something for everyone, whether that’s shows, gambling, eating or pools. But that doesn’t mean that every hotel property has amenities that are right for all visitors. For instance, if you need a weekend away with your partner, you probably don't want a hotel overrun with children. Likewise, if you're planning a family getaway, you’ll want to avoid the hotel properties that cater to party crowds.
You can, however, choose the property that’s right for you. Even better, you can do so at MGM Resorts’ hotels on or near the Las Vegas Strip, so all the points you earn will be in the MGM Rewards loyalty program.
To help you find the property that’s best for the type of trip you're planning, here’s a list of our picks for the best MGM Rewards hotels.
Take your sweetie for a special vacation at the Delano Las Vegas. This all-suite hotel features rooms starting at 725 square feet, which include a living room space. Plus, Delano Las Vegas offers access to not only Mandalay Bay’s beach pools (our pick for the best MGM Rewards pools in Las Vegas), but also its own private pool for when you want something a bit quieter.
Runner-up: Aria will surely impress your significant other with its prime location, views of the Strip and upscale vibe.
With a giant Statue of Liberty replica out front and a property designed to look like the New York City skyline, your family will love the action and excitement of the Big Apple right on the Las Vegas Strip. Inside the hotel, you can eat at more than a dozen family-friendly restaurants or play Skee-Ball in the arcade.
Actually, hold off on the meals until you’ve had a chance to ride on the hotel’s most famous attraction, the Big Apple Coaster — an enormous roller coaster overlooking the Strip.
There are a lot of great properties if you want a weekend away in Vegas with friends, but Aria is a top choice. Aria offers a wide selection of room types, including suites, so you and your friends can be as close to each other (or as far apart) as you want. Located at the CityCenter shopping and hotel complex, Aria has a great location, some of the best pools on the Strip and over a dozen restaurants, plus an outstanding buffet.
Runner-up: If you want to go on a budget, consider Park MGM where you’ll find basic but affordable rooms in a prime location on the Strip.
This was a close call, but ultimately, the unique features at Mandalay Bay secure its place as the top pool spot. There’s both a lazy river and a wave pool, so you'll have more opportunities for fun than a standard pool would offer at other MGM Rewards properties. It also has the standard amenities that you'd expect at a Las Vegas pool, including a grill, a bar and cabanas for rent.
Runner-up: MGM Grand’s pool complex is a massive 6.5 acres and includes a lazy river.
If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, there's no property in Las Vegas that even comes close to Bellagio. The 20-plus options range from the eclectic, such as Picasso, to the more traditional, such as PRIME Steakhouse. Plus, you can have dining seats with a view of the Bellagio fountains from eight different restaurants.
Most hotels offer some sort of show, but few can match the variety at MGM. It has something for everyone, including comedy (Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club), a Cirque du Soleil offering (KA), a magician (David Copperfield) and a dance troop (Jabbawockeez). That list doesn’t include national tours that stop by for shows throughout the year.
And if you want some hockey action, head to the T-Mobile Arena across the Strip where the Vegas Golden Knights play.
Given all the excitement in the city, you don’t need to gamble to enjoy yourself, but gaming is certainly what built Las Vegas. The best spot to gamble is wherever you feel most comfortable, but a good place to start is Luxor. It has a wide variety of games with low limits.
For those new to gambling, the casino also offers free daily lessons so you can learn how to play blackjack, craps or roulette. And if slot machines are more your speed, you’ll have over 1,100 to choose from. Don’t forget to accumulate points with your MGM Rewards card.
Runner-up: The Mirage will give you a solid all-around gambling experience with plenty of table games, an award-winning poker room and solid sports book.
There's no single best hotel for every visitor to Las Vegas since there are so many factors to choose from. But by knowing what's important to you and the people you’re traveling with, you should be able to find the property that will deliver the best personal experience.
