Dale Chihuly’s work has completely changed the art of modern blown glass, and his exhibits in such locations as the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden and the Victoria and Albert were highly regarded and well received. For a limited time, through August 7, 2011, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is presenting the exhibit Chihuly: Through the Looking Glass, featuring a Persian Ceiling, Lime Green Icicle Tower, and Ikebana Boat.

Despite what you may think Chihuly: Through the Looking Glass is a kid-friendly exhibit – and the Museum of Fine Arts offers free admission to kids under the age of 18 after 3pm on weekdays, weekends, and during Boston Public School holidays. General admission to the museum gets you access to the exhibit, but there are also special packages that can be purchased which include a hardcover exhibition guide and a multimedia guide.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is accessible via public transportation (your best option, as parking at the MFA is expensive). If you are visiting the city for the exhibit, consider staying at the Back Bay Hotel Boston, the Colonnade Hotel Boston, or the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston.
