Eden Roc Miami Beach Resort

Like it or not, Labor Day is just around the corner. While no one wants to think about summer ending, it’s never too early to think about your Labor Day plans, especially if your plans include booking a hotel and a plane flight.

Right now many of our favorite Miami hotels are running sales for Labor Day weekend, so we thought we’d tell you a bit about the hotels and the savings they’re offering. But don’t delay in making a decision, as these sales will likely vanish as the holiday weekend draws nearer.

The below hotels all have zzdtravel ratings of 4 pearls (out of 5) or above, so you know you can’t go wrong choosing any of these options — these are truly some of our favorite hotels in Miami. The sale price we’re showing is the average per night during Labor Day weekend.

Betsy Hotel

List Price: $264/nightLocation: South BeachPearl rating: 4

After a $40 million overhaul, the Betsy reopened in 2009 with a beautiful rooftop spa and solarium, a renowned restaurant (BLT steak), and bright, charming rooms. The pool’s a bit disappointing, and the rooms aren’t as large as the Mondrian’s, but for tasteful luxury and a rare dose of tranquility on Ocean Drive, this is where it’s at.

The Angler’s Boutique Resort

List Price: $244/nightLocation: South BeachPearl rating: 4

Separated from busy South Beach by lush gardens, this 46-room art deco hotel is a low-key oasis. There’s a top-notch restaurant, free off-site gym passes, and a small, but serene pool. Other hotels offer more features or direct beach access, but the massive, Wallace Tutt-designed rooms are hard to beat.

Fontainebleau Resort Miami Beach

List Price: $303/nightLocation: Miami BeachPearl rating: 4.5

After its $1 billion facelift in 2008, the Fontainebleau’s 1,504 new rooms, nine pools, phenomenal spa and gorgeous design are hard to top. Despite its sexy ads and nightclub, it’s a relaxed property that attracts mostly families and convention goers. Its peacful Mid-Beach location – next to the also snazzy Eden Roc hotel – is 30 blocks from the South Beach action.

Delano Hotel

List Price: $438/nightLocation: South BeachPearl rating: 4.5

The Delano’s 195 all-white rooms don’t come cheap, but you’re paying for surreal, Philippe Starck style and all-night parties at the “water salon.” To some, its hip factor has been bested by the Gansevoort or Shore Club, but their style doesn’t compare, and good times are still to be had.

Marenas Resort

List Price: $159/nightLocation: Nothern BeachesPearl rating: 4

For a well-equipped beachside Miami resort located in the safe, kid-friendly suburban city of Sunny Isles, the Marenas Resort (formerly Le Meridien, an upscale Starwood-brand hotel) is a fine option, even if its rooms are a bit small. This is especially true for families who want kitchen-equipped suites and a safe, 180-block distance from the scandalous South Beach scene.

Palms Hotel and Spa

List Price: $276/nightLocation: Miami BeachPearl rating: 4

A clean, lively beachside resort in sleepy Mid-Beach, the Palms takes style lessons from the hip boutiques — think poolside house music, a fun tiki bar, updated rooms, a new Aveda spa, and free yoga classes. But for nightlife, revelers must head to South Beach, a five- to 10-minute taxi ride away.

Gansevoort South

List Price: $270Location: South BeachPearling rating: 4

The chic Gansevoort hotel is a bit removed from the action on the north edge of South Beach, but it still attracts hipsters and stylish families with its rooftop pool parties, attentive staff, large rooms, sexy David Barton gym, and beachfront location. It doesn’t quite compare to all of its high-priced neighbors, but it’s often a fair pick for the price.
