Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Fairmont Washington D.C. Georgetown

Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile

The seared scallops at Canon Ranch are only 305 calories

We all know the feeling of wandering into the hotel gift shop and tearing open our favorite bag of chips. If you want to stay healthy and get some quality R&R in, check out one of these resorts for delicious — and nutritious — fare.

CANYON RANCH HOTEL & SPA MIAMI BEACH

The newest outpost of the Canyon Ranch wellness chain sits on one of Miami’s hottest beaches, and rest assured, it does not let you forget that the Sunshine State’s bikini season is year-round. The menu at the hotel’s restaurant, the Canyon Ranch Grill, offers up delicious fare plus all the nutritional info you’d wanna know: Calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein and fiber. Plus, there are tons of vegan and gluten-free options, too. And should you have a particular dietary issue, check in with one of the hotel’s nutritionists before your arrival, who can help you navigate the fare during your stay.

THE FAIRMONT WASHINGTON, D.C.

After the Fairmont group of hotels announced their health initiative, LifeStyle Plus Cuisine, back in January 2011, we were stoked. But the D.C. hotel’s restaurant, Juniper, offers a LifeStyle Plus menu for both breakfast as well as lunch/dinner. Calories aren’t listed on the menu; instead, it’s organized by specific dietary need: Heart-Healthy, Raw, Vegan, Diabetes, Macrobiotic, and Gluten-Free. Choices such as a “stir-fry” salad and Meyer lemon sorbet are so tasty it’s hard to believe they’re actually health savvy. Got a specific food allergy? You’re encouraged to chat with the chef to plan your meal choices — before you arrive.

SOFITEL CHICAGO WATER TOWER

You know how they say French women don’t get fat? The Sofitel in Chicago agrees. The hotel partnered with Thalassa Sea & Spa to offer a smattering of Francophile-cum-healthy dishes at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Cafe del Architects. What we really love about the Sofitel’s grub is that each dish almost exactly resembles its calorie-laden counterpart — without the bad stuff. Right now we’re obsessing over Creamed Peas with Truffle Essence at only 105 calories per serving, but that could also be because anything creamed is simply wonderful.
