We’ve hardly ever met a Kimpton hotel we didn’t like, and the Eventi Hotel, which celebrated its grand opening today, looks like it’s going to be no exception. With a beautifully-designed lobby, 292 rooms decked out with Frette linens and flat-screens, and a 20,000-square-foot Food Parc headed by restaurant mogul Jeffrey Chodorow slated to open this fall, the Eventi should easily match up to (or surpass) its three Kimpton sister hotels in the city, Ink48, 70 Park Avenue, and The Muse (all highly recommended by zzdtravel).
Located on the corner of 6th Avenue and 30th Street, Eventi is going to be a big part of the revitalization of northern Chelsea, a rather drab pocket of the city currently populated more by knock-off vendors than happening scenesters. The opening of the uber-cool Ace Hotel in 2009, and now, the Eventi, is starting to change that, livening up the neighborhood with hot spot dining and drink destinations, not to mention tourist dollars. Check out 16 more photos we took of New York City’s newest hotel after the jump.
