  Why did Simone Biles pull out of the Tokyo Olympics?

  Simone Biles decided to stop competing in Tokyo due to mental health reasons and to support her team."I chose to not continue team competition in jeopardizing losing a medal (of any color) for the girls/U.S., Biles shared at the time. She said she was experiencing a phenomenon called the twisties in which gymnasts lose a mind and body connection while flipping, which can be quite dangerous. Biles is prioritizing her mental health upon her return to competitive gymnastics.
