Milan Fashion Week: The City’s Most Stylish Hotels
Milan Fashion Week: The City’s Most Stylish Hotels-October 2024
Oct 2, 2024 6:30 AM

We gave you all the deets on Fashion Week in New York and London, and now glamorous Milan is up next on the multi-city Fashion Week circuit, with the festivities kicking off on Wednesday. Milan is "the most" at many things in Italy; it's the most modern, the most business-oriented, the (nearly) most populated, and the (arguably) most stylish city in the country. And we've got to agree with the latter claim. After all, it plays home base to luxury fashion houses such as Prada, Valentino, Armani, Versace, Missoni, Miu Miu, Etro, Dolce & Gabana, and many, many more, and it also has some of the most fashionable hotels in the world. Take a peek at Milan's most stylish hotels, that are sure to be hot spots during the next fews days as Milan Fashion Week takes center stage.

It’s no surprise that a Bulgari property would be fashionable. This uber-luxurious hotel is one of the best places to see and be seen in the fashion scene of Milan, and it has a price tag to match. An 18th-century renovated mansion on 4,000 square meters of private gardens, the 58-room property is within walking distance of shopping venues like Prada and Gucci, yet still manages to feel secluded. Bulgari Milano is loaded with every conceivable amenity, from a world renowned spa to a sleek bar and gourmet restaurant. There are some complaints that rooms are too small for the price and that the color scheme is gloomy — but everyone in fashion knows that black never goes out of style.

Boscolo Milano is truly a one-of-a-kind luxury design hotel, with one of the most fashionable addresses in Milan. Previously a bank, the property was transformed into a design hotel in 2009 by the same architect who renovated the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. In-the-know locals and sophisticated international travelers (families may not be comfortable here) book design-forward rooms, some of which have views of the Duomo from private balconies. A rooftop terrace, champagnerie (is that even a word in English?), and luxe spa are just a few of the features on offer.

Hotel Milano Scala is a chic and eco-friendly four-pearl boutique hotel located in one of Milan’s best (and most expensive) neighborhoods. Couples and business travelers stay here for the luxe rooms decorated with an opera theme and stocked with espresso machines, spa bathtubs, and minibars. Primadonna restaurant gets rave reviews for gourmet cuisine made with organic ingredients from the rooftop garden, where guests can relax and admire views of the nearby Duomo Cathedral.

This intimate, high-end boutique hotel is beautifully designed and has an excellent Milan location, just one block from the world famous Duomo and luxury shops that make the city a magnet for the rich. The property attracts tourists and business travelers alike who appreciate the art that predominates its public spaces. Rooms don’t come cheap, but Wi-Fi, non-alcoholic drinks, and a breakfast buffet are included with the price.

The 77-room Chateau Monfort is a high-end five pearl property located just outside Milan’s center. Elegant, whimsical rooms and public spaces are designed with a fairytale theme — think blue ombre paint, shiny curtains, and a heavy hand with floral wall stencils. Bathrooms are large and airy with white fixtures and deep soaking tubs. A wine bar, lobby bar, and gourmet restaurant are convenient, and the on-site spa is a definite perk with a grotto-style swimming pool. If staying closer to the center of Milan is important, try comparing rates at UNA Maison Milano.

The Yard Suite & Dependance is a 24-room intimate boutique uniquely designed with a ’30s deco theme. Conveniently located next to a metro station (the center of Milan is 20 minutes away), this artistic hotel has a fascinating collection of objects on display — chairs at check-in are vintage barber chairs. There is an inviting bar on-site and the stylish lobby has a screen for movie nights. Free Wi-Fi and bike rentals are nice extras, but there’s a fee for breakfast.
