Varayadumotta is known for its panoramic view of the hills and the Nilgiri Thar. Seethatheertham is another popular trekking trail where you can find the ruins of temples and the footprint of Goddess Seetha. However, please note that a guide and permit are mandatory for visiting the reserve.

This verdant valley runs along the banks of the Kallar River and is renowned for its golden sand and crystal-clear water. The Kallar River is also called the "River of Stone," due to its stony riverbed, which is covered with boulders and pebbles of various shapes and colours.

　　The ideal time to plan a trip to Ponmudi Hills is between the months of October and March. During this time, the hills are shrouded in mist and have a pleasant cool climate. It can get chilly, so make sure to carry some warm clothes. During the summer season, Ponmudi Hills offers a refreshing break from the scorching heat in Trivandrum. If you plan to visit after the monsoon season, the entire region will be draped in lush greenery and provide a vibrant view.

　　Thiruvananthapuram is the nearest airport and railway station. There are plenty of buses and cabs which travel from Thiruvananthapuram to Ponmudi.
