The 10 Most Popular Hotels in Miami Right Now-November 2024
Nov 15, 2024 9:50 PM

Beautiful beaches, a lively club scene, and Art Deco buildings are just a few of the reasons people head to Miami. The sexy city is continuously a top travel spot for families, bachelorette parties, and foreigners looking for fun in the sun. From budget stays ideal for college students, to luxurious five-pearl hotels with top-notch service, there's something to suit everyone's taste and bank account. Check out the 10 most popular Miami hotels on zzdtravel.com right now, and start dreaming of (and booking!) an oceanside getaway.

1. Viceroy

Stunning design by Kelly Wearstler, big rooms with kitchenettes, and a sleek lounge make the 162-room Viceroy strong competition for the upscale Epic hotel down the road. The Asian-inspired rooms have bold colors, antique woods, mirrors, four-poster beds, along with free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, and flat-screen TVs. A beautiful infinity pool, huge luxury spa, Mediterranean restaurant, and a rooftop lounge round out the hotel features. But it would live up to its hip image better in South Beach than in its corporate neighborhood.

2. Fontainebleau Miami Beach

After its $1 billion facelift in 2008, the Fontainebleau‘s 1,504 new rooms, nine pools, phenomenal spa and gorgeous design are hard to top. Despite its sexy ads and nightclub, it’s a relaxed property that attracts mostly families and convention goers. Small but snazzy rooms are spread across four separate towers, and include flat-screen TVs, and iHome docking stations. Beds are comfortable, but bathrooms are small. Its peaceful Miami Beach location – next to the also snazzy Eden Roc hotel – is 30 blocks from the South Beach action.

3. 1 Hotel South Beach

The luxurious, 426-room 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach opened in March 2015 after a complete renovation (it was formerly Perry South Beach, and the Gansevoort Miami Beach before that). The 1 Hotel brand is extremely eco-conscious and the entire hotel has environment-friendly features including salvaged wood, hemp mattresses, and take-home socks instead of disposable slippers. Top-notch amenities include direct beach access; four pools, including one on the roof; three bars and fine-dining restaurant; fitness center; event spaces; and Tesla car service within a three-mile radius.

4. Trump International Beach Resort

An amenities-packed hotel right on the beach in Sunny Isles, the Trump International Beach Resort is more casual than other Trump properties. Limited nightlife options, plus two pools and a free kids’ club, make it a better fit for families and business travelers than scene-hunting sophisticates. Rooms may lack style, but they have kitchenettes, iHome docking stations, Keurig coffeemakers, and balconies.

5. W South Beach

The stunning 312-room W South Beach — located on the beach, on the northern outskirts of South Beach — blends cute comforts, intricate design (that spares no expense), and flawless service. Large, modern rooms; terraces angled to overlook the ocean; elegant landscaping around the pool; a lush Bliss spa — the W tops the Miami greats.

6. Delano South Beach Hotel

The Delano‘s 195 all-white rooms don’t come cheap, but you’re paying for surreal, Philippe Starck style and all-night parties at the “water salon.” To some, its hip factor has been bested by 1 Hotel South Beach or Shore Club, but their style doesn’t compare, and good times are still to be had. The heated pool, trendy bar scene, and agua Spa are added perks, but note that rooms are showing some wear and tear.

7. The Setai Miami Beach

Paradise doesn’t come cheap. Striking but sober mood-lit design; impeccable service; huge, immaculate rooms; three pools, each a different temperature; and a prime beachside location make the Setai one of the best hotels in Miami. Though the hotel’s 85 rooms may lack SoBe flavor and direct ocean views — they’re gorgeous, gigantic, and filled with luxurious amenities like deep soaking tubs. Its restaurants also seem to be more about design than food, but several of Miami’s best restaurants are just half a block away. Oh, and did we mention there’s a recording studio designed by Lenny Kravitz?

8. Loews Miami Beach Hotel

The 790-room Loews Miami Beach Hotel is a luxurious mega-resort with attentive service and a big, freeform pool overlooking a beautiful stretch of beachfront. The hotel has a spa, gym, several upscale restaurants, and a convenient, central South Beach location. Some guests complain about securing a poolside chair (and there’s a pesky fee for chairs on the beach) plus rates are high and extras like valet parking and gym access are pricey. Families are drawn to the hotel for a list of supervised activities for kids and pets are indulged with treats and toys.

9. Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach

Four pools, great Italian cuisine, a luxurious spa, 98 huge, modern rooms, and some of Miami’s most attentive service — the Acqualina is Sunny Isles’ best hotel. Decorated in a chic, light style to evoke the Mediterranean, the rooms are elegant and all feature balconies. The standard intracoastal rooms average 740 square feet — about three times the size of most Art Deco boutique hotel rooms in South Beach. The hotel sits directly on a lovely stretch of public beach, but with the hotel’s attentive service, it feels like a private club. For families looking for a relaxing beach stay, this a superb luxury pick.

10. The Ritz-Carlton South Beach

A huge (though relaxed) beachfront resort with reliable service, a great pool, a top-notch spa, and a modern fitness center, the Ritz offers more for the money. Less crowded than its hip, style-focused boutique neighbors, the family-friendly Ritz is still in a prime position to explore SoBe. Just don’t expect to be wowed by the dated, dull room furnishings.
