Located in the heart of Amritsar in a lush 1.5-acre expanse is The Bagh. The modern culinary oasis has recently launched its all new food and cocktail menu. The menu is a bold exploration of flavours that reimagines Indian classics and introduces vibrant global influences.
The restaurant was founded by sibling entrepreneurs Shreya Nayyar and Shaurya Nayyar and is a blend of a serene ambience with a menu that pushes culinary boundaries.
From inventive cocktails to elevated comfort food from across cuisines, the menu invites guests to embark on a journey of taste and technique.
With its all-new cocktail menu, The Bagh is set to reinvent the cocktail culture in the city. The restaurant’s in-house bar, Jade, is led by Anshul Tiwari who has been the first runner-up at one of the world’s most prestigious mixology contests, the World Class Global Competition in 2024.
The cocktail menu has been thoughtfully curated to blend masterful mixology with dynamic flavours and fuses global inspirations with regional influences. Whether you’re a connoisseur seeking refined flavors or a casual drinker looking for something refreshing, The Bagh’s exciting lineup promises to impress with every sip.
Some of the must-try cocktails from their menu include tiki ambarsar that is a tribute to Punjab’s vibrant energy. The drink blends bold rum with a refreshing citrus twist, claiming to transport you to a tropical paradise. With its velvety texture, Mr. Clover that offers a sophisticated blend of herbal notes and subtle sweetness is another must-try from the roster.
Peaches, a peach-forward, fruity and refreshing cocktail, Mexico x Punjab that reimagines a classic paloma through a Punjbi lens, and the fiery and spicy Bagh picante are some other must-try drinks from their revised drinks menu.
Helmed by Chef Rajesh Thapiyal, the food menu at The Bagh is a coming together of modern Indian cuisines and global dishes that are inspired from Mexican, Italian, and Asian culinary traditions. The restaurant has a separate lunch and dinner menu.
The carefully-curated dishes at The Bagh feature locally foraged ingredients and a seamless fusion of global inspirations. A standout feature of the restaurant’s culinary approach is the six-and-a-half-foot deep Peruvian-style cooking pit which employs a slow-and-low cooking method.
It is a traditional technique that allows dishes to develop deep, smoky flavors over 16 hours, adding layers of complexity to select offerings.
Their beetroot, kale, and goat cheese salad and broccoli and asparagus soup finished with garlic almond cream and parmesan foam are great options for starters from their menu. The crispy, honey-glazed lotus stem chaat that is topped with yoghurt, tamarind chutney, and pomegranate, and assorted bruschetta that offers a trio of global flavours are absolute must-tries.
Some of their Asian-inspired highlights include the mushroom har gao that are delicate dumplings in a hot chilli oil broth and penang chicken bao. Italian indulgences shine through the four cheese and king oyster mushroom pizza and the black fettuccine bolognese.
For Indian mains, try rara gosht that is served with lachha paratha and dilkush salad. The three pepper paneer, five-spice lamb bowl, and black pepper paneer are equally good.
To end your meal on a sweet note, try the saffron tres leches and the Himalayan malta and chocolate mousse. Be rest assured of a great ending to your meal.
