The First U.S. Chase Sapphire Lounge Opens in Boston
The First U.S. Chase Sapphire Lounge Opens in Boston-November 2024
Nov 17, 2024 4:32 AM

This month marks a big milestone for travelers carrying the Chase Sapphire Reserve®. The first Chase Sapphire Lounge in the U.S. is now open.

It’s officially called the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club. As of May 16, 2023, the new, upscale airport oasis welcomes guests at Boston Logan International Airport, near where the B and C terminals meet.

Spanning more than 11,000 square feet, the stylish lounge includes features like a beer taproom, showers and massage chairs. It also provides dedicated spaces to recharge or eat before a flight.

Another plus, all amenities are complimentary once you step inside, including food and drinks.

For travelers, this may be one of the most compelling new perks to date offered as part of the premium Chase card’s suite of benefits, particularly as Chase plans to cut the ribbon on several other U.S. lounges in the near future.

The new Chase lounge design isn't cookie-cutter, looking more like a restaurant than an airport lounge.

You’ll find tables and other comfortable seating with space to unwind while overlooking the Logan airfield and Boston Harbor.

The lounge is well-equipped with facilities to make the travel experience more pleasant, especially for families. There's a dedicated family area and a nursing room.

Food and beverages

The lounge offers ready-to-eat food for travelers with a bit less time on their hands (think buffet-style options), as well as made-to-order selections with a distinctly local flair.

The menu is the product of Douglass Williams, owner and chef at popular Boston Italian restaurant MIDA.

Williams created some dishes specifically for the lounge, including a beef meatball parmesan sandwich, chilled gazpacho and sticky buffalo chicken.

The lounge sources its coffee from Massachusetts-based Atomic Coffee Roasters.

One more unique element of the lounge: a taproom featuring local draft beers; a poignant touch in a city that’s given birth to iconic beer brands like Samuel Adams from Boston Beer Company.

Perhaps the central feature of the lounge is the bar, where the staff serves wine and cocktails.

Guests will find two wellness rooms, including an anti-gravity massage chair and guided meditations.

The lounge also has showers, which is particularly useful for people with long flights ahead.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge access

Access to Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounges will be fairly exclusive in Boston and other future locations.

Generally, you’ll need to carry the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and activate the Priority Pass membership that comes complimentary with the card. You’ll also be able to bring up to two guests, free of charge.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® carries a $550 annual fee, but features a wide range of other perks on top of access to more than 1,300 lounges globally, such as a $300 annual travel credit, trip insurance and application fee credits every four years for programs like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry.

If you don’t have the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, there’s another way you can get in: Priority Pass members get one complimentary visit to a Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge each calendar year.

That means if you have Priority Pass access with another card (even if it’s not issued by Chase) you could make one annual visit to a Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge for free. After that, these visitors would have to pay an entry fee.

Where is the Chase lounge in Boston?

The new Chase Sapphire Lounge in Boston is located post-security on the B to C connector at Boston Logan International Airport between gates B39 and B40.

That means flyers using both Terminals B and C will be able to access the lounge.

Terminal C houses JetBlue’s Boston hub operation. Other than Delta (which is in Terminal A), most major U.S. airlines as well as a couple of international airlines depart from Terminal B — including American, United, Alaska, Southwest, Spirit, plus Air Canada and TAP Air Portugal.

Other Chase Sapphire airport lounge locations

The new lounge in Boston is technically the second in Chase’s portfolio. The first Chase Sapphire Lounge opened in Hong Kong in 2022.

Other lounges are “coming soon,” the company says, at several domestic airports: Las Vegas, New York-LaGuardia, Philadelphia, Phoenix Sky Harbor and San Diego.
