Sep 22, 2024 4:28 PM

Every Friday, we're updating you on the most recent hotel and travel news that you should know. Because it's always nice to be the person with the latest.

D.C.'s National Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing, and runs through April 12, when the blossoms are expected to be at their most beautiful. This weekend, fun activities include the Blossom Kite Festival, the 49th Annual Cherry Blossom Rugby Tournament, and a concert featuring music by Piazzolla, Rodrigo, and Beethoven.

The world's most dangerous walkway reopens tomorrow. Located in the village of El Chorro in Southern Spain, El Caminito Del Rey pathway opened in the 1920s and became notorious for being particularly treacherous (numerous visitors have died on the trail). However, thanks to extensive renovations, the pathway is much safer now; stretching high above the Gualdalhorce River, it will still make your heart race when walking across it!

Taking advantage of the recent (unfortunate) airline trend, Frontier Airlines has just announced that it will be increasing its baggage fees beginning May 1. Increases range from about $5 to $10 per checked bag, but range from a staggering $50 to $60 for bags checked at the gate. Other increases also apply.

Tunis’s Bardo Museum, the site of a terror attack last week which left 21 dead, will reopen to visitors on Sunday.
