The Sexiest Adults-Only Pools in Florida’s Kid-Friendly Hotels
The Sexiest Adults-Only Pools in Florida’s Kid-Friendly Hotels-December 2024
Dec 27, 2024 8:31 AM

Summertime is often when families choose to get away as a group for some family togetherness and sibling bonding. But that doesn't mean Mom and Dad (or any other couples along for the family reunion) shouldn't be allowed some alone time of their own, as well. That's where these sexy adults-only pools come in. In destinations across the state -- from Miami to the Keys, from Delray Beach to Fort Lauderdale -- Florida hotels boast some pretty amazing adults-only pools. And, perhaps surprisingly, we found that some of the very sexiest adults-only pools in Florida are actually located on the properties of some pretty awesome kid-friendly resorts. So rest assured that your family getaway won't be all about the kids. Here are our favorite adults-only pools in kid-friendly Florida resorts.

Spread across 12 waterfront acres in the Florida Keys, Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort is a collection of upscale tropical Victorian-style homes divided into multi-story two- and three-bedroom suites with full kitchens and water views. There are also a handful of guestrooms without ocean views. With a private beach, three pools (including one adults-only), and an array of on-site water sport activities available, the property is a great fit for vacationing families.

The 243-room St. Regis Bal Harbour is one of the most luxurious beachfront hotels in Miami. Highlights include lavish decor, spacious guestrooms with oceanfront balconies, numerous pools, three restaurants as well as a bar with a wine vault and live music, and a prime location across from Bal Harbour Shops. The hotel is an excellent choice for visitors who are indifferent to the South Beach party scene, and prefer the calm, family-friendly — but still sexy — vibe, which is maintained with the help of an adults-only tranquility pool and a kids’ club that offers half- and full-day camps.

After its $25 million makeover, this 650-room Marriott in Fort Lauderdale is great for kids — giant pool, kids’ club, big, comfortable guest rooms– but there’s still plenty for grown-ups, including yoga classes at the fitness center, an adults-only pool, and a full-service spa and salon.

The 114-room Cheeca Lodge was one of the original luxury properties on Islamorada, dating to 1946 and earning plenty of celebrity cachet over the years (high-profile guests have included George W. Bush). The property was rebuilt after a fire gutted its main building in 2009, and now has bright, spacious rooms with tropical-luxe decor and massive bathrooms. The lush grounds are especially pretty at night, with Tiki-torch-lit paths. The on-site kids’ club is very popular, and the family-friendly pool is often crowded with splashing swimmers, but the adults-only pool — surrounded by cabanas and loungers — is tranquil.

High-up in Miami Beach, the location appeals more to families looking for a peaceful vibe than partiers looking to, well, party — although the lively scene of the Fontainebleau is nearby. The Eden Roc boasts a beautiful adults-only pool with ocean views, a massive spa, and even an on-site Starbucks for a pick-me-up when time with the kids can get a bit wearing. Also perfect for a little break? The hotel’s occasional kiddie activities and slew of watersports.

This five-story property located right across the street from the beach looks like an average, not-so-new Marriott hotel from the exterior. But inside, this upper-middle-range property exudes sophistication, with an elegant lobby featuring crystal chandeliers and dark wood paneling. (Some may find the style a tad out of place in sunny Delray.) The glamorous vibe extends into the main pool area, which is large and surrounded by palm trees and several stately columns. The adults-only pool is smaller and simpler, but certainly more tranquil.

Big, beige, and offering striking ocean views — including from the adults-only pool, the 430-room Grand Beach Hotel is a relaxing alternative to the hectic South Beach scene. Guests get more space for their money; big, contemporary suites have balconies, mini-kitchens, and separate living rooms. Families and couples will enjoy the stretch of uncluttered beach, the bicycles for rent, and the tasty, affordable restaurant on-site.
