Shopping the East Village

Between crafting, DIY, Etsy, and Mad Men, vintage fashion may be hotter these days than contemporary. If thrift stores and secondhand boutiques are your style, here’s our trio of favorites, within walking distance to these East Village hotels.

: At this swank little space, you can pick up anything from funky handbags and handcrafted jewelry to vintage shoes and cool ties. The eclectic collection showcases big-name designer items as well as random avant-garde finds — and even antique furniture. 95 Rivington St.

: This three-part space houses a cooperative boutique for New York’s up-and-coming designers as well as a cocktail bar and a basement clothing exchange . The casual bar area features live DJ events, movie screenings, and free internet. 75A Orchard St.

: An old-time favorite for starving East Village artists and hipsters, this consignment store features racks and racks of high-end designer goodies for a fraction of their retail costs. It may take awhile to browse through the bric-a-brac — but you’re bound to find something that fits. 64 E. 7th St.
