There is no uniformity among the 1,300-plus Priority Pass airport lounges. Some are quite basic, while others can stand their ground against the most luxurious airlines’ first class lounges. If you’re a Priority Pass member headed to or through Southeast Asia, it’s good to know which lounges are worth your valuable pre-departure time. To help you choose, here are our picks for the top 10 Priority Pass lounges in Southeast Asia.
Note: Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, some lounge benefits and/or hours of operation may be temporarily altered. Always check directly with the lounge or Priority Pass website for the most updated details on availability.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK), Domestic Concourse A, Thailand
There are 15 Priority Pass lounges at BKK, but only two domestic ones, of which the Blue Ribbon might be the better choice for a weary traveler. The lounge is not large, but it features comfortable seating, a quiet area, massage chairs and excellent food options that include a cooking station for made-to-order dishes.
Phuket International (HKT), Terminal 2, Thailand
The Coral Executive Lounge is on the smaller side, but it’s nicely and thoughtfully decorated and offers comfortable chairs with panoramic views of Mai Khao Beach. It also serves good-to-excellent food, although you have to pay for alcohol (except beers). However, guests can receive something better than alcohol — a complimentary 15-minute neck-and-shoulder massage.
Manila Airport (MNL), Terminal 3, Philippines
This lounge won’t blow you away in terms of interior design, but it makes up for it with the comfortable seating, very polite staff, reasonably fast Wi-Fi and an outstanding buffet spread.
Hanoi Airport (HAN), Terminal 2, Vietnam
This Vietnam Airlines Business Class lounge, accessible to Priority Pass members, is on the smaller side. But it’s designed to appear airy and spacious, with plenty of seating and quite a few choices of hot and cold dishes. Add fast Wi-Fi, shower rooms and beautiful restrooms (with golden basins, no less), and you can see why this lounge could be worthy of your time.
Singapore Changi International (SIN), Terminal 1, Singapore
You can enjoy Changi airport without setting foot inside one of its nine Priority Pass lounges. There’s Jewel — a mixed-use development with gardens, retail and dining — plus a movie theater and a rooftop swimming pool. So you might be hard-pressed to find time to sit in a lounge. But if you want a bite to eat, a cup of world-class coffee or a chance to catch up on your work, Dnata is an excellent option. This beautiful lounge has an extensive buffet, soda fountains and a bar doubling as a coffee station manned by exceptionally skilled baristas.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), International Concourse D, Thailand
This Bangkok airport hosts a whopping 15 Priority Pass lounges — some ranking among the best in the world. But given a chance, the Turkish Airlines lounge will impress. The ambience here is very pleasant, the seating is plentiful and, in addition to a modest but high-quality buffet selection, there’s a live cooking station.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK), International Concourse F, Thailand
The Air France – KLM SkyLounge is truly first class, with a few features that distinguish it from other highly regarded BKK competitors. For one thing, this 24-hour lounge feels very private. Instead of one open space, chairs here are separated by partitions. So if you want to work or read a book in peace and quiet, you might appreciate this layout. Other features include massage chairs, excellent buffet spread and mouthwatering desserts.
Singapore Changi International (SIN), Terminal 3, Singapore
The 24-hour SATS Premier Lounge is a winner of the 2018 Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Award, and as soon as you enter you will know why. The layout here is pleasant and smart: Chair rows are separated by partitions, which makes the space feel more private yet allows bigger groups to stay together. The large, high-quality buffet features plenty of hot and cold items, and it even has a laksa station for lovers of Peranakan cuisine.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK), International Concourse D, Thailand
There are nine Miracle Lounges at BKK, but the Miracle First Class Lounge at Concourse D stands out as the Regional Winner of the 2018 Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Award. The lounge is classy and elegant, with plenty of seating. It’s big enough to have its own dining lounge inside. The food is plentiful and there is a live cooking station with a few ready-to-order dishes.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK), International Concourse E, Thailand
The 24-hour Oman Air First & Business Class Lounge at BKK is popular among travelers and travel bloggers, many of whom consider it one of the best Priority Pass lounges in the world. The lounge feels intimate and laid-back, with two rooms containing plenty of chairs and couches. There are even two daybeds for those who have time to take a nap. But the best attribute of this lounge is the food. The buffet spread is extensive, with international and Arabic dishes. The food is delicious, and the presentation is excellent.
Premier Lounge Bali, Ngurah Rai International (DPS), International Terminal, Bali.
Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur International (KUL), KLIA1 Satellite, Malaysia.
Changi Lounge Singapore, Changi International (SIN), Jewel, Singapore.
If you travel through an airport that features several Priority Pass lounges, you might choose to spend more time at one of the lounges we’ve mentioned here. And if you have a premium credit-card-based membership (and a really long layover), you don’t have to limit yourself to only one lounge. If you don’t like the first lounge for whatever reason, just go to the next one on the list.
