From full nude-friendly hotels to properties that have designated clothing-free pools, here are 10 spots you don't need to pack a bikini for.

The couples-only Desire Riviera Maya Resort is an all-inclusive, clothing-optional resort that attracts a range of adults, from older married couples to young nudists to swingers. The resort has an explicit, sensual atmosphere as sex (and nudity) is allowed in some public spaces, including the whirlpool area and the Sin Room. There is a clothing-optional pool with a swim-up bar overlooking the ocean, a small spa offering treatments for two, and a clothing-optional nightclub, plus all-inclusive rates cover food and drinks at multiple restaurants and bars. The 114 rooms here have contemporary decor, outdoor spaces, and erotic photos on the walls, plus suites add four-person hot tubs either in the bedroom, the bathroom, or outdoors.
One of the most popular clothing-optional hotels in the Caribbean, the all-inclusive Hedonism II is a lively nudist resort set along a quiet, private section of Negril’s famous Seven Mile Beach. The adults-only resort attracts mostly couples and groups looking for a raucous getaway, plus some singles. There are both “prude” and “nude” sections of the resort to accommodate different comfort levels, with a nude-only and clothing-friendly beach, and a variety of pools and whirlpools on both sides. A wide variety of activities and entertainment encourages guests to explore their wild side, with options such as raunchy costume parties, themed nights, and a sensual playroom. Rooms have mirrors above the beds and some have huge hot tubs on their patios.
Located in historic Key West, Island House is a 34-room, clothing-optional hotel designed exclusively for gay men. Nudity is allowed everywhere except the gym, and a fun atmosphere is evident throughout. Happy hours with free drinks, an outdoor pool and hot tub, and an adult video lounge for solo or group experiences encourage steamy socializing. Many restaurants and tourist attractions along Duval Street are located within easy walking distance. Stylish rooms have flat-screen TVs and iPod docks, and some have showers with multiple showerheads. Other amenities include a cafe and bar that’s open until around 4 a.m. Another pro is the hotel’s easy access to popular tourist attractions and nightlife on Duval Street.
The luxurious and romantic Ventana Big Sur is an adults-only (18 and over) property set amid 160 forested acres along the beautiful Pacific coast. The hotel isn’t completely clothing-optional, but there is one lovely heated outdoor pool where guests can strip down. Next to here are Japanese-style hot baths, which have womens’, means’ and coed sections. Other lovely, but clothing-required features include another outdoor pool, walking trails, free yoga classes, and top-notch restaurants. The 59 rooms and suites are elegant and cozy, all with bathtubs and separate showers, outdoor spaces, bathrobes, and aromatherapy bath products.
The 226-room Couples Tower Isle was one of Jamaica’s first resorts, and today it offers an upscale, all-inclusive experience for couples only. This 19-acre resort is set along a pretty white-sand beach, and guests can take a one-minute boat ride to a private island that has a small pool, a little beach, and a swim-up bar — but guests must be willing to bare it all, as the policy is “clothing prohibited”. A gorgeous spa is a highlight, as are comprehensive all-inclusive offerings that cover all meals — including a 24-hour spot — excursions such as catamaran cruises, and top-shelf liquor. Rooms have king-sized beds, private furnished balconies or terraces, and free Wi-Fi.
The upscale Temptation Cancun Resort is an adults-only (21 and over), topless-optional property that caters to uninhibited travelers. More guests are couples than singles at this all-inclusive resort, and they tend to be in the 35 to 45 age range. A fun, relaxed atmosphere is found throughout, thanks to staff-led pool activities and nightly risqué entertainment such as lingerie shows and foam parties. Topless-optional areas include all of the outdoor pools, a rooftop lounge with a pool and bar, a hot tub, and beach. All-include rates cover all restaurants, bars, Wi-Fi, and daily entertainment. The 430 spacious rooms exude a romantic atmosphere, and some add whirlpools to their terraces.
The upscale, all-inclusive Grand Lido is an intimate, clothing-optional resort that provides free access to the neighboring (non-clothing-optional) Royalton Negril and Hideaway at Royalton Negril resorts. This 21-and-over resort has just 26 suites, all of which come with butler service, furnished terraces, stand-alone jetted tubs, and two-person rainfall showers. The resort centers around the bi-level infinity pool, which overlooks the ocean and has a swim-up bar, plus an adjacent hot tub and plenty of cushioned loungers. Note that nudity isn’t required at the pool, so it tends to be a mix of clothed and nude travelers. The atmosphere here is more conducive to relaxing than partying.
The 148-room Couples Sans Souci is another all-inclusive, adults-only, couples-only resort in Jamaica. This upscale hotel is located in Ocho Rios, and its 35 lush acres are filled with waterfalls, grottos, beaches, lakes, and jungles. It has a nude beach that operates from morning until evening, with a pool, hot tub, and bar and grill as well. Be aware that this “au naturel” beach prohibits clothing and singles — couples must use it together. All the other expected features of a beachfront all-inclusive resort are found here, including a clothing-friendly beach, multiple pools, a spa, and several restaurants and bars. The fantastic all-inclusive package covers scuba diving, tours to Dunn’s River Falls, and a range of activities.
Located about an hour south of Cancun, the luxurious Hidden Beach Resort is an adults-only all-inclusive with a clothing-optional policy. This nudist resort allows nudity in all areas of the property (except the fitness center), including restaurants, outdoor swimming pool with a swim-up bar, private beach, and the Moonlight Lounge where nightly entertainment is provided. Generally, guests are on the older side and tend to take advantage of the nude-friendly policy their entire stay. Rooms on the ground floor are swim-up suites, allowing guests to swim directly from the main pool to their suite.
The mid-range Copacabana Hotel & Suites is an adults-only property along Jaco Beach in Costa Rica. It attracts open-minded singles, couples, and swingers of all ages. This property has a sexy atmosphere, two pools — one clothing-optional and one where nudity is required — and evening music and entertainment — often with a sexy theme. Parties can last until the wee hours, so travelers not participating should secure a room away from the nude pool. Other features include an all-day restaurant, spa offering a variety of treatments, and water sports for rent. All-inclusive packages are available.
